 The Original Bedstead Company produce by far the best quality metal beds we have seen. The beds utilise a thick grade steel together with genuine castings and high quality clean welds at the joints. All brass used for the finials is genuine cast brass, lacquered for protection and 'antiqued' appearance. The Original Bedstead Company painted finishes are a very high quality powder-coated finish to ensure they last for years, and where a colour option has a highlighted accent on a casting this is applied by hand.

The slatted base has steel side rails and a substantial centre rail (on doubles and larger sizes) for strength and is secured with discreet allen bolts. OBC do not use centre legs as they are easily buckled and the centre rail used is considerably heavier than most others. The OBC base has been weight tested to 250 kgs - a quarter of a tonne! The laminated beech flexi slats are extremely well finished and give excellent support. The base is finished in a matching colour to the bed ends, with the exception of brass, chrome and nickel beds where it is supplied in black. On most of the range you can set the base to 14" or 17" from the floor, allowing for storage underneath. The Original Bedstead Company supply beds for many famous national department stores and chain stores.

 Silentnight is a name which needs little introduction having been well known for over 60 years. The unique Miracoil spring system displaces your bodyweight lengthways rather than across the mattress helping to reduce 'roll - together'. This spring system uses twice as many coils as a regular Bonnell mattess and Silentnight's constant development has seen pocket springs, latex and memory foam incorporated into their latest beds and mattresses. Sleepeezee have incorporated the latest technologies in their manufacturing including latex and Visco Elastic Memory Foam which makes them clear leaders in the better quality end of the market.
